Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins gets his share of criticism, which could shroud his 2023-24 NFL season.

But if the Dolphins' Week 1 36-34 win over the Los Angeles Chargers is any indication, the 25-year-old play-caller may be in for a huge NFL season.

Tagovailoa threw for 466 yards and three touchdowns. However, the fifth overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft did not do it alone. Tyreek Hill also came away with 215 receiving yards and two touchdowns, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Most are left awed at the Week 1 of the Dolphins, although Tagovailoa feels everyone is overreacting, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

"It's Week. 1. Everyone overreacts on everything," Tagovailoa said. "You're either going to win the Super Bowl after you win your first game or you're the worst team ever, and everything that comes with that."

As far as doubters, the Pro Bowl QB could care less and has found a way to ignore the criticism and let his performance speak for itself - especially when it comes to how deep he can throw the ball.

"I don't care," he said via Yahoo Sports. "466 is - that's what 466 is, if I can't throw deep."

Tagovailoa named Offensive Player of the Week

Tagovailoa was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance by the NFL, per Miamidolphins.com. This becomes his second honor after winning the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award in Week 2 of the 2022 season.

Aside from that, the 25-year-old QB also became the fourth player to have multiple games with at least 450 passing yards and three touchdown passes in their first four seasons. Other NFL names on the list include Marc Bulger, Joe Burrow, and Patrick Mahomes.

Additionally, Tagovailoa is just the fifth quarterback in league history with multiple road games of at least 450 passing yards and three touchdown passes.
