Sixers: James Harden Trade to Clippers Gets Surprising Update; Here Are the Details

James Harden's wish to move to the Los Angeles Clippers will have to wait.

The Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Clippers explored a potential deal, but discussions went nowhere. As a result, the Clips have reportedly moved on from any possibility, although this does not entirely close the door on any potential Harden trade scenario, Brian Windhorst of ESPN suggested.

The scribe said his take on The Hoop Collective, believing that the Clippers may try to pull a James Harden deal by midseason.

"And from what I understand, it was the Clippers who said, 'Okay, there's no deal here. We're gonna move on.' And while I assume that they could certainly make a deal midseason, I assume that this is what they're gonna go with," Windhorst said.

Aside from the Clippers, no other NBA team has come forward to try and explore James Harden trade possibilities. With the new NBA season fast approaching, it will be interesting to see what the 2018 NBA MVP will do.

Philadelphia freezing Harden

Unless a new team emerges to take Harden off their hands, the Sixers will likely place the 10-time All-Star in the freezer.

While it is still possible to see Harden play for the Sixers, his proverbial jabs against Sixers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey stand in the way.

Recall that in August, Harden went off on Morey and called him a liar, vowing never to play for an organization he was part of, SI.com reported.

After opting into the final year of his contract, it will be interesting to see where Harden and the Sixers go from here. The Philadelphia 76ers open training camp on October 3.
