Milwaukee Bucks May Not Like Their Chances of Keeping Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Milwaukee Bucks will sit on pins and needles until the Giannis Antetokounmpo issue is resolved. The earliest they may find out would be on Friday, September 22, when the "Greek Freak" becomes eligible to sign a contract extension with the team.

However, the two-time NBA MVP has been very vocal on the Bucks. He wants to see change and compete for a title once more, placing Milwaukee in a precarious situation.

There is no telling what is going on in the mind of the seven-time All-Star. But as far as his chances of staying with the Bucks, Brian Windhorst of ESPN feels that it is 50/50 once Antetokounmpo's contract with Milwaukee Bucks ends.

"I would say right now it's 50/50 at best and I don't think that's new information to the Bucks, I think the Bucks knew that already," the scribe said when he appeared on Behind The Play via HoopsHype.

However, the 28-year-old NBA star's big decision may only be known by next offseason, the New York Times reported. Hence, the Bucks need to get to work fast and show Antetokounmpo that they have their sights on another NBA title.

Middleton unfazed

While most are panicking about the possibility of Antetokounmpo leaving the Bucks, one player on the Milwaukee side believes that his teammate's comments are merely an extension of what Antetokounmpo has been saying for years, ESPN reported.

"It doesn't affect me personally. I don't think it affects us as a team. I think this is something he said almost every year he's come up in contract extension talks," Middleton said to the outlet.

Although he has made this familiar stance before, there is no telling if Antetokounmpo would seriously bolt the Milwaukee Bucks once his deal ends.

The Bucks may have to settle for a 50/50 chance on Antetokounmpo, although it would be comforting if they had bigger odds.
