WWE Riddle Drops Shocking Revelation on Social Media About Future

Another WWE star has been let go by the promotion after Matt Riddle put up a surprising post on social media.

The 37-year-old caught the eye of WWE fans on Friday, September 22.

Riddle informed his fans and followers that he was no longer connected with the promotion. He went on to thank fans for their support but did not mention what was next for him.

"Just wanted to inform everyone that I'm no longer with WWE. Thank you for the memories and opportunities, also thank you to all the fans for the support and love you give me every time I go out to the ring. See you all soon," the former mixed martial artist stated.

Sean Ross of Fightful later confirmed his release from the WWE.

Riddle had sporadic appearances this year. He was written off in the first three months of the year after getting suspended for a second time for failing a drug test, Bodyslam.net reported.

The Pennsylvania native's last appearance was on September 4 on WWE Raw, per Bleacher Report.

For now, it remains unclear where Riddle will be headed. But being a former United States and Tag Team champion, the 37-year-old is not expected to be idle for long.

WWE cuts ties with several talents

Matt Riddle became the latest WWE superstar to leave in the aftermath of the promotion's merger with the UFC into TKO Group Holdings.

Other notable WWE stars released on Thursday, September 21, include Dolph Ziggler, Shelton Benjamin, Elias, and Mustafa Ali, among others. The WWE reportedly fired about 100 employees after the merger, according to PWInsider.com via Ringside News.
