The Miami Heat's trade plans to acquire Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers remain unclear. However, the South Beach squad has the assets to make it work and just has to figure it out.

This is under the premise that the Heat is serious about getting the 33-year-old to South Beach.

Tyler Herro and future picks are seen as pieces that could make a Damian Lillard trade come to fruition. But the Trail Blazers are also looking for a young guy as well in exchange for Dame.

The Heat have three young players they could include in the package. They are Caleb Martin, Nikola Jovic, and rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr., according to an unnamed scout in a report by Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

However, Portland wants three tradeable first-round picks for any Damian Lillard trade to go down. But in the opinion of the anonymous source, one is enough alongside Herro and one of the three young players mentioned.

Further, the scout believes sending three picks is too generous for a 33-year-old player with $216 million left in his contract. Also, on the part of the Heat, giving up all three future first-round picks would leave them with practically nothing.

Blazers making life hard for Lillard

Given the analysis, it is clear that the Portland Trail Blazers will not make it easy for any Damian Lillard trade to go down, and understandably so.

The Philadelphia 76ers and the Toronto Raptors were among the teams mentioned as having interest in the seven-time All-Star guard. The only problem is that Damian Lillard made it clear that he is only interested in one team - the Miami Heat, the Guardian reported.
