The Colorado Rockies' worst season in franchise history is not about to get any better.
After an 11-2 beatdown in the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the second game of a same-day doubleheader on Tuesday night, September 24, the Rockies have now lost their 100th game of the season.
Colorado notched a victory in the day's opening game, 4-1.
This season marks the first time in the franchise's history that they lost 100 games in a single campaign, extending their worst season in franchise history.
The Rockies' previous worst-ever season occurred in 2012, with the team claiming 64 wins and suffering 98 losses.
The team has never been generally successful, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2018. They have frequently breached the 90-loss mark, doing it four times in the past 11 years in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2019, and 2022.
The franchise has only secured two campaigns over .500 in the last 13 seasons, including the current one.

Rockies have the worst record in NL
After Tuesday, Colorado has accumulated a win-loss record of 57-100, the worst slate by a wide margin in the entire National League.
However, as a silver lining, they still do not possess the worst record in the whole MLB, as the American League West's Oakland Athletics have a 48-109 record, while the American League Central's Kansas City Royals stand at 54-103.
