The Indianapolis Colts have shared an encouraging update regarding their star running back, Jonathan Taylor.

With the Colts heading on to their fifth game, Taylor returned to team practice as a full participant on Wednesday, October 4, according to league insider Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The 24-year-old was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list at the end of August, and league rules mandate that players on this list must sit out the first four games of the season.

The 2021 First Team All-Pro received a warm and supportive welcome from his teammates as he rejoined them for the first time in several months.

During the summer, Taylor became embroiled in a contract dispute with the Colts' front office when they could not agree on a contract extension.

The former standout from Wisconsin expressed a desire for a trade out of Indianapolis, but the team was resolute in their intention to retain him. Eventually, the Colts permitted Taylor to explore potential trade destinations, but the team could not find a suitable deal that met their criteria.

However, he did not explicitly confirm whether Taylor would play in the upcoming game.

"We'll see. We'll see how practice goes," the 38-year-old said.
