The Tampa Bay Rays were ousted from the MLB playoffs, and the team will be looking for answers to bounce back next MLB season. However, the future of Kevin Cash with the team is also something Rays management must address.
After seeing their 2023-24 season go up in smoke, there are reportedly internal concerns about whether Cash will still be around for the next MLB season.

The name of the 45-year-old manager has been linked to several teams in need of a manager. However, the Cleveland Guardians have been singled out as a potential team in the eyes of baseball writer Peter Gammons when he appeared on 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland.
Further, Gammons shared some tidbits of why a Kevin Cash move to the Guardians made sense. The two-time AL Manager of the Year has a history with Cleveland, serving as bullpen coach from 2013 to 2014.
"It's something people there worry about," Gammons stated. "[Cash] loved Cleveland. He loved Tito [Terry Francona]. I know the Rays are a little concerned about it. It's an intriguing thought."
Francona stepped down as Guardians's team manager due to health issues, ESPN reported. However, Guardians president Chris Antonetti hinted that the 64-year-old would still have a role, though he did not explain.
As of this writing, there is no official word if the Guardians have reached out to Cash per Sports Illustrated. Hence, the Tampa Bay Rays can rest easy for now, although that may change in the offseason.
