The Carolina Panthers have yet to win this 2023-24 NFL season, and critics suggest this may be part of a rebuild. However, Panthers coach Frank Reich has rejected that notion and has a different take on the real state of Carolina Panthers football.

"I'm not calling it a rebuild," Reich said in a report by ESPN. "Actually, let me say it this way: I think everything is always building. So I'm really comfortable with that. I think players understand that. We understand that as coaches."

Technically, the Panthers cannot call themselves in a rebuilding phase. They no longer have draft capital, giving that up when they took in Bryce Young as the top pick of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Unfortunately, that move has yet to justify itself, with the Panthers 0-5 for the season. Unless Reich and his team can turn things around, Carolina may inadvertently find themselves in a rebuilding phase.

Panthers against all odds

Regardless, the first-year coach believes the Panthers can still prove critics wrong. He encourages the team to keep fighting to get better, believing it will work to their advantage, NBC Sports reported.

"Keep fighting to get better and know that it's going to make an impact, it's going to make an impact this year, tomorrow, and future days," the 61-year-old coach said via the team's official website.

That starts in Week 6 action when the Panthers go up against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, October 15, at the Hard Rock Stadium. Unfortunately for Reich and company, the odds are stacked against them when they play Miami. The Panthers have +600 odds of prevailing over the Dolphins, per AZ Central.
