The Colorado Buffaloes suffered a surprising 46-43 loss to Stanford Cardinal on Saturday, October 14, despite being tipped as favorites to prevail. Aside from having the odds in their favor, Travis Hunter's return also raised the stakes.

However, the Buffaloes sputtered in the end. This unsurprisingly upset Buffs coach Deion Sanders, who questioned his players' love and desire, SI.com reported.

"They gotta make up their mind, are they in love with this game or like it," the 56-year-old rued. "When you love something, you give to it unconditionally. You give everything you got to it. But when you like it, that's just a button you push."

Hunter responded to the harsh comments of Coach Prime and agreed with the message that the 56-year-old was trying to send across. As far as he is concerned, Travis Hunter made it clear that he loves the game of football when he appeared on a recent livestream via the Bleacher Report.

"Stuff like that make you get to second-guessing, 'Do you love this game or do you just like it? Do you like to play it because it's fun?' And I get what he's saying right there man. You got to love this game to go out there and put your body on the line every day. I love the game," the 20-year-old wide receiver stated.

The Buffaloes started strong against the Cardinal, leading by as much as 29 points. Unfortunately, it appeared the Buffs got complacent in the second half and eventually went on to lose to the underdog Cardinal in double overtime, CNN reported.
