Josh Jackson was initially seen as someone who could take big strides in the NBA. Unfortunately, off-the-court issues hampered his rise, and his latest lawsuit is an example of how his life has gone over the past couple of years.

The fourth overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft is being accused of raping a woman last year at a hotel in New York City per a federal lawsuit filed by the victim, according to The Kansas City Star.

However, the attorney of Josh Jackson, John Lauro, has vehemently denied these allegations and branded them as "very serious, albeit entirely false."

"Mr. Jackson will vigorously contest these allegations in court and looks forward to the truth being fully told," Lauro said to the outlet.

It was added that Jackson and the female victim first met at a Super Bowl party hosted by two-time All-Star Andre Drummond on February 13, 2022, per the New York Post.

Both ended up going to a club after that. Later that night, Jackson allegedly texted the woman and said he had $1,500 ready for her if she headed to Jackson's hotel.

Josh Jackson sent an Uber to bring the woman to the hotel. She told the 6-foot-8 cager that she wasn't there because of the money and stressed she was not a gold digger.

The women had too much to drink that night and allegedly laid down the bed but faced away from Jackson. She claimed she woke up after the 26-year-old ripped her clothing and sexually assaulted her.

After that, the woman got a threatening text from an unknown man and had her apartment broken into by two women who were reportedly sisters. Both claimed that Jackson was the mastermind of the whole thing.

This lawsuit is the latest legal trouble that Jackson finds himself in. He had his share of problems during his NBA tenure, including a misdemeanor property damage case in 2017 and resisting an officer at a musical festival in Florida in 2019.

Despite being a top pick, Jackson struggled to survive in the NBA. He last played for the Sacramento Kings during the 2021-22 season. He tried his luck in the G-League with the Stockton Kings but was waived four days later, CBS Sports reported.

He is currently not signed with any NBA or G-League team.
