Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals could be back in NFL action soon after the 26-year-old play-caller was spotted practicing with the team this week.

However, the Cardinals will reportedly continue to adopt a cautious approach. They do not plan to rush the 2019 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year back into the fray, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

"From what I am told, [Kyler Murray] being sound of mind and body is the most important thing for the Arizona Cardinals," Rapoport said.

If all goes accordingly, the scribe added that a potential return date for Kyler Murray would be either November 5 or November 12.

"This is not going to be a rushed situation. Likely November 5th against the Browns or November 12th against the Falcons. The Cardinals are expected to use all three weeks [of practice] for Kyler Murray."

Thus, the Cardinals will have about 21 days to activate Murray, who started the season on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, CBS Sports reported. Arizona has until November 8 to activate him.

Kyler Murray saw an abrupt end to his last NFL season after suffering a season-ending ACL injury on December 12 in the loss to the New England Patriots, 27-13.

Cardinals need to make critical Kyler Murray decision

Murray is reportedly in a precarious situation with a new general manager and coach. His lack of height could be a concern, and the Cardinals need to decide whether to keep him beyond 2024, NBC Sports reported.

Murray signed a five-year extension in July 2022 that will keep him under contract until the 2028 season. That includes $160 million guaranteed for injury.

In the meantime, the Cardinals are leaning on Joshua Dobbs to carry out quarterback duties.

He has started in all six games for Arizona this season, completing 62.8% of his passes for 1,215 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions, ESPN reported.
