Dallas Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones is keeping tabs on the action around the league and was watching the Minnesota Vikings vs. San Francisco 49ers Week 7 matchup.

The Vikings won, 22-17, over the Niners, and Jones hailed Vikings QB Kirk Cousins for his effort in that game. However, the 81-year-old appears to have also taken a swipe at Cowboys QB Dak Prescott when he spoke on ESPN's First Take.

"I would've liked to have played better against the 49ers," Jones started. "You see a team step up and play like Minnesota did and their quarterback did, they can be had, the 49ers. [Our record is] 4-2, I will take it, for sure. But we have better football ahead of us."

Jones was not content with the effort of the Cowboys when they faced the 49ers in Week 5. Dallas lost to San Francisco, 42-10, with Prescott completing just 58% of his passes for 153 yards, a touchdown, and three interceptions, the Associated Press reported.

After that humbling loss, Prescott was quoted as saying that the result was something he did not see coming.

"Put everything into this, and got punched in the mouth. It was humbling a couple weeks ago against Arizona. But this may be the most humbling game I've ever been a part of," the two-time Pro Bowler said.

Cousins' performance against the 49ers

For comparison, Cousins threw for 378 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Also worth mentioning is that the 35-year-old is the first QB this season that the Niners have not sacked and also only the second play-caller with multiple touchdown passes against San Francisco this year.

Regardless, Jones believes that things can get better for the Cowboys. And as far as Prescott is concerned, he may have to churn out a better performance, CBS Sports reported.
