Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Chet Holmgreen is finally in action, although the year has not been particularly kind to the 21-year-old center.

The second overall pick of the 2022 NBA Draft is having a rough go and his latest humiliation came at the hands of Nikola Vucevic of the Chicago Bulls.

Holmgreen got posterized by the 33-year-old Bulls center after youngster tried to contest the dunk attempt of the Montenegrin big man in the first quarter of their matchup on Wednesday, October 25.

But in the end, Holmgreen had the last laugh with the Thunder winning over the Bulls, 124-104. The rookie finished with 11 points, four rebounds and three assists.

With his size, the Thunder are hoping to get help on the defensive end from Holmgreen, particularly in protecting the ring. The 21-year-old missed the whole 2022-23 NBA season after suffering a LIsfranc injury.

Chet Holmgreen learning the hard way

Despite his 7-foot-1 frame, Holmgreen is learning the hard way that defending NBA players will not be easy. The Vucevic poster is the second defensive highlight where Holmgreen was the victim.

It should be recalled that Holmgreen was at the wrong place at the wrong time when Victor Wembanyama made his preseason debut for the San Antonio Spurs last October 10, via NBCDFW.

Holmgreen was virtually erased when Wembanyama drove in for a basket and got a three-point play opportunity. The French beanpole added insult to injury by flexing over a fallen Holmgreen at that time. A video of that was captured by the Sports Center.
