WWE Superstar CM Punk stands as one of the most iconic figures in the history of sports entertainment. Renowned for his charismatic and outspoken demeanor, the 45-year-old has captured the hearts of fans worldwide with his compelling presence inside and outside the wrestling ring.

After stints with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and Ring of Honor (ROH) in the early 2000s, Punk soared to stardom upon signing with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2006. He won the ECW World Championship in 2007, before ascending to main event status a year later by winning the World Heavyweight Championship.

The subsequent years marked significant success for the Chicago native, as he continued to thrive by winning the WWE Championship for the first time in 2011. Punk's historic second reign with the world title lasted for 434 days, which is the eighth longest in WWE history.

Following a fallout with the company, Punk bid farewell to WWE in 2014 and largely stepped back from the world of wrestling for a while.

During the next few years, he ventured into a mixed martial arts career with UFC, engaging in two fights in 2016 and 2018. He suffered losses in both instances, although the outcome of the second fight was overturned to a no contest three years later after his opponent Mike Jackson tested positive for marijuana.

Punk made his much anticipated return to wrestling in August 2021 with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), winning the AEW World Championship twice during his two year stint with the promotion.

Despite favorable fan reactions, his tenure at AEW was marred by several setbacks such as injuries and disciplinary issues. Following a backstage altercation in August 2023, Punk was released from the company by AEW president and CEO Tony Khan.

After nine years away from WWE, Punk returned to the promotion on November 25, 2023 during their Survivor Series: WarGames pay-per-view without prior announcement.

CM Punk's Wife: AJ Lee

CM Punk has been married to AJ Lee since June 13, 2014.

Known as April Mendez in real life, Lee had a wrestling career with WWE from 2009 to 2015. In the early 2010s, she achieved success by winning the WWE Divas Championship three times, thereby tying the record for the most reigns.

Additionally, Lee holds the record for the longest combined reigns for the Divas title. She announced her retirement from in-ring competition in April 2015.

The couple has refrained from sharing bits of their personal lives to the media, preferring to keep a low profile.

Following Punk's return to WWE in 2023, fans eagerly expressed their desire for Lee to also make a return to the promotion.

CM Punk's Family

CM Punk was born as Phillip Jack Brooks on October 26, 1978 in Chicago, Illinois to a housewife and an engineer, whose names remain undisclosed to the public.

The one-time UFC fighter comes from a family of six siblings. His father grappled with alcoholism, a challenge that influenced Brooks to adopt a straight edge lifestyle from a young age.

On the other hand, his mother faced bipolar disorder, leading to a strained relationship and eventual estrangement.

Punk began his professional wrestling journey alongside his brother Mike and some friends, participating in the backyard wrestling promotion Lunatic Wrestling Federation during the late 1990s.

However, a revelation about his brother embezzling funds from the small company led to their estrangement, and they have not talked since.

Following this, Punk departed from the Lunatic Wrestling Federation and pursued formal wrestling training at the Steel Dominion wrestling school in Chicago. Under the guidance of trainers Ace Steel, Danny Dominion, and Kevin Quinn, Punk refined his skills, setting the stage for his career as a professional wrestler.
