Aaron Rodgers remains bent on returning this NFL season. However, this will also depend on how the New York Jets fare against the Miami Dolphins in their Week 15 clash on December 17.

The Jets have a 5-8 win-loss record and are two games behind a Wild Card slot. However, New York needs to keep winning and hope other NFL teams still in contention start losing games.

This is an important aspect since it could decide whether Rodgers will return or not. The four-time NFL MVP clarified that he would only return this season if the Jets are in the playoff race.

How is Rodgers now?

Aaron Rodgers gave the latest update on his health status, revealing he was improving when he appeared on "The Pat McAfee Show."

"I'm getting better, improving. Still some things I got to do in order to be able to be cleared," Rodgers said on Tuesday, December 12. "I've done some limited practice, done some 7-on-7 stuff at the end of practice."

As things stand now, the 10-time Pro Bowler is practicing with third-string and practice players.

The Jets need to decide on Aaron Rodgers by December 20. After opening the 21-day practice window for the Super Bowl champion QB, they have a week to decide on whether to activate Rodgers or put a lid on his 2023-24 NFL season, Fox Sports reported.

The Jets are 9-point spread underdogs against the Dolphins. The Moneyline set for this Week 15 matchup is -431 for Miami and +332 for New York per BetMGM Sportsbook via USA Today.
