Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is currently in hot waters right now following alleged text messages to an Instagram model, reportedly discussing the abortion of their child.
Edwards was selected by the Wolves the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and he just recently signed a max contract extension with the team worth up to $260 million during the past summer, set to be effective next season.
The Atlanta native has emerged as one of the best players in the league, making his first NBA All-Star Game appearance last season and being the leader of Team USA in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup last summer.

Who is Instagram model Paige Jordae?
The woman to whom Edwards is claimed to have sent the text messages is identified as Paige Jordae, an Instagram model.
Little is known about Jordae's personal information, but she has over 418,000 followers on Instagram. Aside from her presence on social media, she is also active in the internet subscription service OnlyFans.

Jordae posted on social media what she claims are text exchanges between herself and Edwards.
Screenshots on social media indicate that the 22-year-old shooting guard does not want a kid, and he allegedly wrote, "Hell Naw, can't do dis", "Get an abortion lol " and "I will send you money to help you out."
The text messages imply that the 6-foot-4 shooting guard is persuading her to take pills for the abortion. The Timberwolves star is also requesting a video from Jordae showing the box of pills and her consuming them to proceed.
Meanwhile, Jordae is reluctant to undergo the procedure, mentioning that she had an abortion around two years ago and regrets the decision every day.
Anthony Edwards' girlfriend
The situation is further complicated by the fact that Edwards is in a relationship with Jeanine Robel, another Instagram influencer.
Adding fuel to the fire, Robel had recently announced her pregnancy with Edwards' child less than a week ago. As of writing, she has yet to speak up about the ongoing issue.
Before her relationship with Edwards, Robel was involved with rapper Chief Keef, and they share a son.
Anthony Edwards apologizes
After the screenshots of his conversation with Jordae became public, Edwards posted an apology statement on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.
"I made comments in the heat of a moment that are not me, and that are not aligned with what I believe and who I want to be as a man. All women should be supported and empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them," the former first overall pick said.
Edwards also mentioned that he is addressing his personal affairs privately and will not provide any additional comments on the issue at this moment.
