Eagles: Jason Kelce Turned Down Multimillion Offer to Continue NFL Career—How Much Did He Leave on the Table Upon Retirement?

Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, who recently announced his retirement, had the opportunity to extend his NFL career for one more season.

The Eagles handed a one-year deal worth $9 million to the 36-year-old veteran, hoping he would be enticed to continue playing for a 14th season with the franchise that has been the sole team of his storied career.

However, after engaging in extensive discussions with those close to him, the seven-time Pro Bowl selection concluded the playing chapter of his life.

A source claimed that Jason reconsidered playing another season after recently witnessing his brother Travis win a third Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs.

However, he ultimately made the best decision for himself, feeling the need to end his career. While he holds affection for the city of Philadelphia and the franchise, he also wants to allocate more time to his family.

On the other hand, Jason's wife, Kylie, revealed that her husband had been crafting his emotional retirement speech for years.

"I've heard multiple versions over the last four years. This was a completely different version. I think every year he sort of started from scratch as to what was sitting on the surface," the wife of the six-time First Team All-Pro selection said.
