Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards slammed the officiating following a significant disparity between the calls for his team and the Los Angeles Lakers during their game on Sunday, March 10, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
"It's tough. It's tough every night when we don't get to the free throw line as much as the other team. When 1 player shoots more free throws than you're entire team, it's tough. It's tough to compete," the two-time NBA All-Star said.
The Lakers had 29 free throw attempts, successfully converting 22, while the Timberwolves only had 13 attempts, making 11 of them.
"You want to compete and if every time they get the ball, we so called foul them and they get to the free throw line," Edwards added.
Edwards concluded the evening with a solid performance, scoring 25 points on 10-of-23 shooting. Additionally, he contributed seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two blocks.
Despite his efforts, it wasn't enough to lead the Timberwolves to victory as they dropped their second consecutive game with a final score of 120-109.
