Many people on the internet instantly became Sherlock Holmes searching for pictures of Shohei Ohtani's wife after the Los Angeles Dodgers star announced his marriage out of nowhere.
Nobody succeeded, but people do not have to search anymore, as the Dodgers casually posted a photo of the AL MVP's wife on their social media.
Shohei Ohtani and his wife were featured on the team's Instagram as they documented their travel to Seoul, South Korea, for their opening-week game against the San Diego Padres.

Although the team did not provide details concerning the lady, Twitter users quickly identified her.
She is Mamiko Tanaka, a professional basketball player in Japan. Like Ohtani, she has celebrity status, having played for Fujitsu Red Wave from 2019 to 2023.
Fans on Dodgers' IG post are receptive to the revelation of Shohei Ohtani's wife's identity.
"That child from Ohtani and his wife already got to many athletic genes," said one user.
"Something... They look so much alike as brothers I can't wait for the second generation of this beauty ," another one wrote in Japanese.
Ohtani's private life
The Dodgers' post goes against Ohtani's desire to keep his romantic life private.
However, without his consent, her picture will probably not get plastered on the internet.
Ohtani surprised the world on February 29 by saying he was already married to a "native woman" from his home country.
When asked why he suddenly revealed this information, he said that his goal was to spare the team from any distractions once the MLB 2024 season starts on March 28.
