The NCAA men's tournament bracket was unveiled on Sunday, March 17, with the reigning NCAA champions, the UConn Huskies, announced as the No. 1 overall seed.

This marks the first time in school history that the Huskies have been awarded the No. 1 overall seed.

The Huskies secured the top overall seed following a historic regular season, wherein they set a school record with 28 wins before culminating with a flawless 3-0 run at the Big East Tournament.

Connecticut is also the top seed in the East Region and will face the No. 16 seed Stetson Hatters in the opening round of the 2024 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament on Friday, March 22, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

If UConn advances, they will await the winner between the 8th-seed Florida Atlantic Owls and the 9th-seed Northwestern Wildcats for the second round.

This season, UConn secured their 11th Big East regular-season championship, marking their first since 2006, and their eighth Big East Tournament title, which is their first since 2011.
