Bulls Guard Alex Caruso Has Interesting Kobe Shoe Inquiry After Career-Night vs Timberwolves

Chicago Bulls point guard Alex Caruso promptly sought to acquire a new pair of Nike Kobe Bryant basketball shoes after puncturing his sneakers during their 109-101 road win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, March 31.

Caruso told reporters during the post-game interview that he broke his shoe while contesting a shot by Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards. He finished the game wearing teammate Torrey Craig's shoes.

"Blew out my pair of Kobe 4 fade to blacks.. who's got some size 13's I can buy??," the 2023 All-NBA Defensive First Team member said on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, while showing a picture of the broken shoes on his feet during the game.

The model in question, the Nike Kobe 4 "Fade to Black" colorway, was initially released in March 2016, paying tribute to the Lakers legend's impending retirement.

Caruso acknowledged the shoes' age, describing them as an old but lucky pair.

Caruso concluded his eventful evening with 21 points on 7-of-8 attempts, all from three-point range, marking a career-high for most makes from long distance in a single game.

Additionally, the 30-year-old contributed five rebounds, five assists, and five steals in 35 minutes of action.

Moreover, the former Laker was assigned to guard Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards, who was limited to 22 points on 9-of-20 shooting and ended with a -10 plus/minus rating.
