Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark's transition to the WNBA is eagerly awaited by many fans and observers alike, but she may not have a smooth welcome to the big league.

Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi, one of the greatest players in WNBA history and its all-time leading scorer, has issued a fair warning to the Iowa sensation.

"Reality is coming. We all went through it. That happens on the NBA side, and you're going to see it on this side. You look superhuman playing against 18-year-olds, but you're going to come with some grown women that have been playing professional basketball for a long time," the ten-time WNBA All-Star said.

Clark is expected to be chosen as the first overall pick by the Indiana Fever in the upcoming 2024 WNBA Draft on Monday, April 15.

The Fever will enjoy heightened exposure in the 2024 WNBA season, as 36 out of their 40 regular-season games will be featured on a national broadcast.

Another WNBA warns Caitlin Clark about Diana Taurasi

Washington Mystics star Elena Delle Donne, who was initiated into the WNBA by Taurasi, cautioned that Clark might encounter a similar experience.

The 34-year-old compared Taurasi to the late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, known to test younger players and be tough on them.

"She's Kobe. I mean, Kobe plowed his own teammate [Pau Gasol] in the Olympics, so no one's safe," the two-time WNBA Most Valuable Player said.
