Former Major League Baseball star Trevor Bauer feels vindicated after an Arizona court ruled in his favor concerning a sexual assault case filed against him by a woman in 2020.

Bauer, who was last seen in the MLB in 2021 through the Los Angeles Dodgers, won the countersue he filed in 2021 against a woman named Darcy Adanna Esemonu, who claimed he assaulted and choked her.

She also said she was raped twice by the pitcher, resulting in pregnancy.

The athlete countersued by accusing her of fraud, extortion, and fabricating a pregnancy.

Before that, he was accused of sexual assault by multiple women.

"An indictment unsealed Monday in Maricopa County Superior Court charges the woman with fraud and theft by extortion, both felonies, but doesn't provide specific details about the alleged crimes. It says Bauer and one other person were defrauded in a scheme that potentially spanned several years," the Associated Press reported.

In his countersuit, Bauer said that he only had one sexual encounter with the woman and that the plaintiff made demands amounting to a million dollars relating to her pregnancy.

Bauer, who was never arrested for any charges, shared that he already paid around $8,761 for her expenses.

The woman later claimed that she decided not to terminate the pregnancy, but she suffered a miscarriage.

Bauer appeals about playing again

The 33-year-old pitcher celebrated the court ruling and maintained his innocence.

In his YouTube channel, he also spoke about his desire to be able to play again.

"They've rejected every single claim made against me, even going as far as charging one of my accusers with a felony," he said in the video.

"If any evidence of any of these claims actually existed, I would have been charged, or at the very least arrested. But that never happened. What else do I have to do to prove that this entire situation has been a massive lie? This is insane. At what point do I get to go back to work and continue earning a living?"

Bauer was one of the top players in MLB before the sexual assault case.

He entered the league through the Cleveland Indians before getting traded to the Cincinnati Reds, where he played for seven seasons.

He made his first and only All-Star while with the Indians.

By 2020, he was able to elevate his play when he moved on to the Cincinnati Reds. He won the ML Cy Young Award and made it to the All-MLB First Team.

It was in 2021 when a woman claimed that Bauer went too far during their rough sex that she was hospitalized.

He briefly played for the Dodgers and then did not have a team by 2022.

The following year, he played for Japan's Yokohama DeNA BayStars and then with the Diablos Rojos del México this year.

Bauer has been a controversial figure since then. He runs his own YouTube channel, talking about politics and other topics.

An MLB team has yet to inquire about his return.
