Just last weekend, YouTuber-turned-boxing pro-Jake Paul created a bit of buzz when, in an Instagram video, he went shirtless, this time capturing his recorded personal lift in the weights.

Though the video showed Paul's strength, in reality, fans were more interested in his unorthodox look, and widespread speculations and questions sprouted.

What really happened to his stomach?

As News.com.au reports, Paul is shown lifting 500 pounds (226 kg) on the bench press in the video, something which emphasizes his intense preparation for his upcoming fight against boxing legend Mike Tyson on November 15.

Given his challenging preparations for this highly anticipated heavyweight, fans first took notice of his great athletic feat. But attention quickly shifted to something else.

Fans React to Paul's Unusual Stomach Appearance

Viewers could not move their eyes away from his stomach, which looked weirdly bloated and did not feature any of the usual tattoos. Many felt Paul wore his fat belly to attract a wave of opinions regarding his body.

Logan Paul, Jake's brother, a fellow YouTuber and wrestler, said, "When you due, bro," to further lighten up this exchange.

Not long after, though, came the theories that Paul was pulling another one of his famous online shenanigans, perhaps pretending to do exercises with phony weights as part of a ploy.

Missing Tattoos Raise Questions

Adding fuel to the fire were the immensely visible and common Paul tattoos on his belly and flank missing in the video.

It further fanned the belief of the whole scene as a setup as some fans realized that in videos where he appears shirtless before, he is significantly skinnier and is equipped with his usual body art.

In a video of him surfing on water, he looks fitter, showing off his full-on belly with tattoos.

Jake Paul Heavyweight Training for Mike Tyson Fight

Whether a publicity stunt or not, Paul has rigorously trained for the match against Tyson. The bout scheduled for July 20 is now at risk of being called off as Tyson reportedly suffered from an ulcer problem. The match is now scheduled for November, when both fighters expect to undergo rigorous training.

Paul won his cruiserweight bout against Mike Perry in July, but when it comes to Tyson, this one falls in the heavyweight, no weight limit category.

At first, Paul has been working out to gain weight to meet the heavyweight class demands. Experience will work up for Tyson since he is 58, while Paul wants to prove himself against a sporting icon like Tyson.

Above all, suspense emanates from the tourney, partly due to the political tensions and partly due to the personal ambitions tied to the victory.

At least one thing is certain: the fight on Nov. 15 will be spectacular, and Paul goes by all possible means to keep the fans intrigued both outside and inside the ring.
