NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre thinks Deion Sanders could become the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. In an exclusive interview, Favre said he believes Sanders can take the reins of one of football's most iconic positions.

Mike McCarthy, the current head coach of the Cowboys, has been under a lot of pressure due to inconsistent performance, and the team is sitting at 4-7 this season. McCarthy's contract is up in 2025, and there are rumors that owner Jerry Jones might be looking for a new direction, and Sanders could be the top candidate.

According to TMZ, Sanders' coaching resume at Jackson State and Colorado has been remarkable. The ties to Dallas, where he once played as a Cowboy, do not hurt his chances at all.

Favre, who played with Sanders in Atlanta, said he "thinks the world of him" when discussing Sanders' character and leadership qualities.

Favre, who is struggling with Parkinson's disease, said that Sanders has shown these qualities for long to prove in a high-stakes coaching position. "I think he's definitely worthy of a shot," Favre said, believing in Sanders' ability to take on the NFL spotlight's pressures.

"If he does go in the direction of firing Mike McCarthy," Favre said, "which I have no idea which way he's leaning -- Deion may have a shot to step in there."

Deion's Current Stance

Despite all the hype, Sanders has said publicly that he is content where he is in Colorado, telling people he has his "kickstand down" in Boulder.

Jerry Jones, who is famous for his silver tongue and deep pockets, could make a big difference in changing Sanders' mind if he decides to leave McCarthy behind.

The Cowboys' Future Hangs in the Balance with Performance

Mike McCarthy still has time for himself to prove his credentials as the Dallas Cowboys' head coach, starting with today's Thanksgiving Day game with the New York Giants. Or, if the team can't improve, the Cowboys might be looking for new management. Sanders could be the perfect piece to bring new energy and life to the franchise.

With undeniable charisma and proven coaching skills, "Prime Time" can make history by being one of the NFL's most high-profile coaching hires.
