Adrien Broner Next Fight On Floyd Mayweather Jr. Undercard? 'Money' Advises 'Problem' To Box At 140 Lbs. On Next PPV; Backlash After Marcos Maidana Loss 'Not Right' [VIDEO]

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has not found an opponent yet for his next fight, but is already thinking about potential undercard matchups? In an interview with Ben Thompson of Fighthype..com, Floyd discussed Adrien Broner's loss to Marcos Maidana, and the criticism heaped on the 24-year-old.

Mayweather has often been referred to by Broner as his "big brother," and "The Problem" has admittedly modeled himself off of Mayweather's blueprint. He hasn't perfected it though, and that has caused him a lot of grief among boxing fans; especially since he didn't back up his talk vs. Maidana.

That said, Mayweather's standing behind the young fighter and advising folks not to give up him. "Everybody is giving Adrien Broner a hard time and that's not right," Mayweather said. "I'm not here to talk bad about him. Everybody says 'Oh he wants to be like Floyd Mayweather.' You know what? I commend him.

If I was trying to get into basketball and I see a guy who comes from the same background I come from, and he's living the same type of lifestyle that I want to live, and doing the same types of things I want to do, absolutely I'm going to try and follow in his footsteps."

Broner has called for an immediate rematch with Maidana, but Marcos may have elevated his stock enough for "Money" to take notice. In any case, Floyd thinks a step back down in weight might be good for his "baby brother."

"I think what would be a good move for him is this," Mayweather said. "On May 3rd fight on my undercard. You know, fight a solid guy at 140, get back on track, get your career in order."

He also chided his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr. and uncle Roger Mayweather, for badmouthing Broner. "I love my dad. I love my uncle Roger, but they need to be more positive.

"If my dad or Roger is not training a fighter, I don't feel it's right for them to talk negative about a trainer if they're not training the fighter."
