Pro wrestling legend Mick Foley is clearing the air following outlandish rumors that he was quietly making $2.88 million a year working as a WWE ambassador.
The WWE Hall of Famer behind legendary characters such as Mankind, Cactus Jack, and Dude Love spoke out about his side of the story in an honest interview on "The Wrestling Classic."
No WWE Ambassador Contract, Says Mick Foley
Contrary to viral internet rumors, Foley clarified he's not currently employed as a WWE ambassador, according to Fightful. While he does have a Legends deal in place, the seven-figure salary rumor is completely off base.
The veteran wrestler joked that if he were making millions for WWE, he certainly wouldn't be working as hard on the road.
"I don't have an ambassador job that pays me $2.88 million, as has been reported. I had an ambassador job for two years that paid me literally one-fourteenth of that, but it's been rumored that I have this luxurious job, and I'm like, I don't think I'd be out on the road 200 days a year if I was making $2.88 million a year to be an ambassador," Foley told The Wrestling Classic.
Foley confirmed that he remains on good terms with WWE and values the worth of his present Legends contract. He appeared recently for the company, such as a signing at the Royal Rumble and a booked appearance for the revamped WWE Axxess.

Mick Foley's Retirement Match That Almost Happened
Also, during that interview, Foley dropped a surprising update—he was contemplating returning to the ring one last time for his 60th birthday.
Foley even sat down with current AEW star MJF to discuss potentially facing him in a match. He started working out for the big return but tragically got concussed in the process, which spoiled the plans.
The 59-year-old author said that he badly wanted to return to the ring and staged a match with MJF. However, the accident came, and he thought it was not the right decision.
Also, Foley revealed WWE's Karrion Kross came to him with a proposal for a match, but the plans never happened. It's obvious the hardcore icon still carries huge influence within the wrestling world, even though he's not currently competing.
