WWE star Shinsuke Nakamura has taken down an Instagram Story where he shares that AJ Styles confirmed that he will retire at the Royal Rumble.

While Styles has always been transparent about his plans to retire this year, it has never been confirmed exactly when that will take place.

Shinsuke Nakamura Deletes Instagram Story

According to Sportskeeda, it seems that AJ Styles telling Shinsuke Nakamura that he is retiring at the Rumble is legitimate.

How Nakamura's posts will affect the upcoming match remains to be seen. Sportskeeda notes that the post can change the outcome of the match, but doing this may also go against WWE's plans.

As of press time, the WWE, Styles, and Nakamura have not commented about the Instagram post.

What May Be AJ Styles' Retirement Match

Styles is set to go up against Gunther at this year's Royal Rumble, which will be held in Saudi Arabia.

The match has a stipulation that requires Styles to give up his career should he lose the match. Since this stipulation was established, it fueled speculation that Styles may be retiring at the Rumble.

Nakamura's post only added fuel to the fire.

Should Styles really retire at the Rumble, it will prove to be a full-circle moment for the Phenomenal One.

It can be recalled that Styles made his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble in 2016, coming in at number three.
