Mike Munchak Fired? Titans GM, President Meeting With Munchak To Discuss Future? [VIDEO]

Mike Munchak survived Black Monday.

Unfortunately for the Tennessee Titans coach, a Black Tuesday or Black Wednesday could follow.

Multiple media reports are saying the Munchak's job security is still in doubt in Tennessee. CBSSports.com reported that Munchak told the media Monday that he still is scheduled to meet with general manager Ruston Webster and owner Tommy Smith later in the week.

According to a tweet from ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky, Munchak didn't mind playing the waiting game with the Titans brass, but what else was Munchak going to say?

"Munchak on delay in status: The way Tommy wants to do it. This is the process. Everyone does it on their own timetable Fine w/it. #Titans"

Munchak is 22-26 in three seasons as Titans head coach and does not have a playoff appearance. Quarterback Jake Locker was lost for the season after suffering a foot injury in a Nov. 10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

NFL.com is reporting that Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains' job status also is in doubt, even if Munchak returns. It reported that part of the Tennessee management felt the Titans threw the ball too much for a team that had a running back tandem of Chris Johnson and Shonn Greene.

According to NFL.com, Munchak publicly endorsed Loggains, which probably wasn't the best move for Munchak with his status up in the air.

The Tennessean columnist David Climer publicly called for Munchak's dismissal, saying his presence just didn't spark any public confidence in the organization. He cited offensive tackle Michael Roos' comments about the team's situation after an overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Dec. 15.

"We've improved just enough that we're not making plays at the end and we're losing close games," Roos said. "That's the NFL. Every week, games go right down to the very end and the same teams seem to find a way to win."

Climer added, "Despite what has happened the last two weeks, the Titans are not one of those teams. In its current form, this organization will continue to find ways to lose and miss the playoffs."
