Charlotte Bobcats Struggling: Cody Zeller Can't Dunk, Get a Kiss on New Year's? [VIDEO]

New Year's Day 2014 wasn't a good day for Charlotte Bobcats center Cody Zeller.

According to SBNation, the former 2011 Mr. Basketball in the state of Indiana, tweeted just after midnight that he failed to secure a midnight kiss.

From @CodyZeller: "Happy New Years!!!! I'm now 0-21 on that whole "midnight kiss" thing."

Zeller is 21 years old.

As USA TODAY Sports reports, Zeller was the fourth overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft and his nickname in college was "Mr. Handsome." He has a four-year contract with the Bobcats worth $17.4 million, although the Bobcats hold the option for the final two years of the deal.

It turns out that the kiss drought was only part one of his awful New Year's Day.

During Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Bobcats guard Kemba Walker found Zeller streaking down the court and was looking to reward the big man's hustle. The Clippers' Blake Griffin was in the lane to stop him but was preparing only to take a charge.

According to SB Nation, "Everything was set up perfectly for Zeller to put the sensational dunkmaster Griffin on the wrong end of a poster."

Zeller got the ball at the free throw line and jumped step not quite to the dotted semi-circle. He proceeded to slam the ball off the front of the rim.

The Clippers got the rebound and were headed the other way.

Zeller, according to USA TODAY Sports, finished the game 0-for-6 from the field (with six points on free throws) in a 112-85 loss to Los Angeles.

If day one of the new year is any indication of how Zeller's year is going to go, he might want to take the next 11 month off to plot his new plan of attack for midnight on 2015 New Year's Day.
