Erik Walden doesn't just use his helmet as a weapon against opposing players; he also kicks them when they're injured.
The Indianapolis Colts linebacker gained infamy in November when ripped off the helmet of Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker, who was performing a block on Walden, and then head-butted him when Walker got in his face.
The Kansas City Star has reported that Walden struck again during the Colts' playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Colts erased a 38-10 second-half deficit to beat Kansas City 45-44.
The newspaper's website has a GIF of Walden (No. 93) kicking Chiefs running back Knile Davis on the play in which Davis fractured his fibia and suffered a strained left knee.
Davis' teammate, fullback Anthony Sherman, could be seen confronting Walden after the play. Later, Chiefs guard Jeff Allen drives Walden into the ground and shoves him before getting up.
The Star also mentioned that it was unclear whether the Chiefs provoked Walden's actions, but Walden is the one with the history.
The NFL suspended Walden for one game for his actions in the second quarter of the game against the Titans on Nov. 17. He was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct but not ejected for the play.
ESPN reported that Walden did apologize for his actions after the game, but Walker still was angry after the game.
"That's dirty play, there is no need for stuff like that in the NFL," Walker said. "If you're getting your butt kicked, get your butt kicked. Don't rip somebody's helmet off and then head-butt them. I'm surprised he didn't get ejected. ...
"Dang, this is a sport we all play with each other, we're all family, this is a fraternity. For you to do some senseless act like that, that just tells me what type of player you are. There is no need to talk."
Walden's act in the playoff game makes Walker's statement more prophetic.
