Rick Pitino family issues: Pitino not happy about being a good dad, sits next to son who lost a bet and wore a chicken costume at a game [VIDEO]

Louisville coach Rick Pitino could be rethinking how he spent his time off Sunday. He looked to be in a foul mood, but only because his son was in a fowl mood.

The coach of the defending national champion Cardinals took advantage of the team's between-games schedule to fly to Minnesota to attend a game between the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Indiana Hoosiers.

Pitino's son, Richard, is in his first year as coach at Minnesota. He spent five years in two different stints as an assistant for his father (2007-09 and 2011-12) before landing a head coaching job at Florida International in 2012.

Richard Pitino went 18-14 in his one season at FIU before landing the Gophers job, where he is 16-8 on the season after a 66-60 win over the Hoosiers on Saturday.

But the photo taken of Rick Pitino during Saturday's game, as reported by Fansided.com, shows the father less than thrilled during the game because he was sitting next to a man dressed in a chicken costume.

Sports Illustrated's Seth Davis explained why Pitino didn't move to another seat. The man was Pitino's other son, Ryan.

According to Fansided.com, Ryan had lost a bet and had to wear the chicken suit, sitting next to his father during the televised game.

Davis tweeted: "Rick Pitino just confirmed via text that this is his son in the chicken suit. Lost a bet. Hope it was worth it!"

Pitino's Cardinals are 19-4 on the season and nationally ranked, so he probably thought he could sneak out for a day and not affect the team. But if he had known that he would have to sit next to his youngest son, he might've just stayed in his office.
