Allen Iverson divorce: 'Answer' ordered to pay attorneys more than $60K in divorce fees [VIDEO]

Retired NBA legend Allen Iverson has been ordered to pay attorney fees of more than $60,000 to the lawyers that handled his divorced case.

RadarOnline.com reports the man known as The Answer lost a legal duel with attorneys after he refused to pay them for services rendered during his bitter vivorce from high school sweetheart Tawanna Iverson.

Iverson's now ex-wife filed for divorce in June of 2011 and proceedings became so contentious they weren't completed until January of 2013. During a final hearing, the judge overseeing the case castigated the NBA legend with the admonishment "Iverson does not know how to manage the children; has little interest in learning to manage the children and has actually, at times, been a hindrance to their spiritual and emotional growth and development."

The judge later added Iverson had not been serious in seeking to overcome a spiraling alcohol problem "which has caused him to do inappropriate things in the presence of the children while impaired."

Radar reports in a lien filed on Nov. 7 the Georgia based firm sued Iverson for a balance of more than $60,000, plus interest, totaling $64,892.61.

Iverson formally announced his NBA retirement late last year and is slated to have his jersey retired by the Philadelphia 76ers later this season.
