Carmelo Anthony doesn't appear swayed by the New York Knicks' much publicized attempt to land legendary coach Phil Jackson in a key front office position.
The New York Post adds the free-agent forward is also complaining of being keep in the "dark" regarding the team's dogged pursuit of Jackson and feels the whole plan would be best executed after the season.
Sources tell the newspaper team executives expect the Hall of Fame coach to officially join the fold any day now and that discussions are continuing as to what his precise role might be.
"I don't even know what's going on with that,'' Anthony told The Post after the Knicks knocked off the Cavs for their third straight win Saturday night. "Nobody came to me about that. Until that time comes, I'm not going to know what's going on.''
Landing Jackson is all part of the Knicks' grand plan to convince Anthony to remain with the organization past this summer when he can become a free agent.
But The Post points out there is a history between Jackson and Anthony that may not lend itself to such a happy ending. In a 2012 interview with HBO's Real Sports, Jackson called the Knicks roster "clumsy" and criticized Anthony's style and play.
"Carmelo has to be a better passer," said Jackson. "And the ball can't stop every time it hits his hands. They need to have someone come in that can kind of blend that group together.''
