Ghana Witch Doctor Casts Spell on Portugal's Ronaldo Cristiano; Was Landon Donovan Next? [VIDEO]

The debate over the Group of Death is over, thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo's injury and a Ghanaian witch doctor. It's Group G, once again.

The Metro is reporting that a witch doctor from Ghana, one of the four counties in Group G along with Portugal, Germany and the United States, is taking credit for a leg injury that is bothering Ronaldo as he prepares to lead Portugal into World Cup play.

The witch doctor, Nana Kwaku Bonsam, is claiming that he put a curse on the Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo to make him miss the tournament in Brazil.

"I know what Cristiano Ronaldo's injury is about, I'm working on him," said Bonsam, according to the Metro. "I am very serious about it. Last week, I went around looking for four dogs and I got them to be used in manufacturing a special spirit called Kahwiri Kapam."

The Associated Press reported that Ronaldo has tendinitis in his left leg and a left leg muscle injury but did not say the injury would cause him to miss any time.

Don't be so sure about that, Bonsam said.

"I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo seriously and rule him out of the World Cup or at least prevent him from playing against Ghana," he said. "This injury can never be cured by any medic, they can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual."

According to the Metro, Bonsam said he will create more spells to keep Ronaldo out of the tournament.

Apparently, Bonsam considers only Portugal a threat to Ghana, despite the fact that Germany is ranked second in the world, according to mlssoccer.com. Portugal is No. 4.

Also, the Portugal-Ghana match is the last match of Group G play on June 26, so Bonsam's efforts seemed to come a bit early.

Portugal will open match play against Germany on June 16. The U.S. will take on Ghana the same day, and another mystery may have been answered by Bonsam's meddling. Perhaps, U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann left Landon Donovan off his roster to protect him.
