Chicago Bulls Want Aaron Afflalo [VIDEO]

The Chicago Bulls are in pursuit of Orlando Magic guard Aaron Afflalo whom they believe is the right shooting guard to complement former MVP Derrick Rose in the backcourt.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports says that league sources believe that the Magic are willing to give up Afflalo, who still has two years in his contract including an early termination option, for the right pieces. The Bulls have the 16th and 19th pick in this year's draft, and it is almost assured that they would have to give up at least one of those picks to entice the Magic to part ways with Afflalo.

The 28-year old Afflalo is coming off his best season with averages of 18.2 points a game on 46 percent field goal shooting last year. But he has hinted his desire to join a championship caliber team and get out of Orlando, which is on a rebuilding mode.

The presence of sophomore guard Victor Oladipo also makes Afflalo dispensable for the Magic, which owns the fourth and 12th picks in this year's draft.

However, it remains to be seen how the Bulls' pursuit of Afflalo will impact their courtship of New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony who is believed to be entering free agency come July 1.

Afflalo could give the Bulls a versatile guard who can create his own shot, shoot from the outside and defend the opposing team's best wing players. He is set to make $7.5 million in the upcoming season and should he opt in 2015, could make $7.75 million.
