The United States put forth a game effort against Belgium, especially goalkeeper Tim Howard who finished the Americans' Round of 16 match with 15 saves. The Red Devils tacked on a seond goal at the 104' mark by Romelo Lukaku that salted the match away for good.
The Americans refused to go away quietly though, getting a goal from Julian Green at 107' and barely missing two shots right in front of the Belgian net. However, it was too little too late as the USA bows out of the World Cup honorably in the Round of 16.
