Kevin Love Trade Rumors: Love 'Possible' For Team USA In FIBA World Cup Even If He's Traded [VIDEO]

Even though Kevin Love has withdrawn from playing for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup this summer in Spain amid ongoing trade talks, there is still a possibility that the three-time All-Star plays for the national team.

Lakers Workout Michael Beasley, May Sign Him

Love is currently a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, but it is highly likely he will be traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers later this summer in a deal that will likely net the T-Wolves a handful of players, including 2014 No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins.

Wiggins, who will become eligible to be traded on Aug. 23 which is 30 days after he officially signed with the Cavaliers, will likely be dealt to bring Love on board with Olympic teammate LeBron James in Cleveland.

Cavs Remain The Favorite To Land Kevin Love

Love withdrew himself from the national team last month, but Team USA Chairman Jerry Colangelo told CSNNW that Love may still end up suiting up for his country.

With the first game of the FIBA World Cup set to tipoff on Aug. 30, Colangelo has to finalize his roster by Aug. 29, meaning if a deal between the Timberwolves and Cavaliers comes to fruition prior to that date, Love may be able to join the team if he chooses to.

"Technically it is possible," Colangelo told the site following Day 4 of Team USA training camp in Las Vegas. "But I have to weigh all of the considerations if I were to look at that. Is it fair to the guys who are here putting in the time and effort? How do the teams think about that after the fact? I don't know. We'll see how it plays out."

Colangelo maintained that it's an option, but nothing is definite.

"I know it's an option. I know it's possible that he could play, but we'll see," he said.

Love will likely miss all of training camp and the team's exhibition games as he awaits his fate and despite being upset over not being able to participate, Love is trying to play it smart by not risking injury before a potential deal is reached for him.

Love has made it clear to the Timberwolves that he will not re-sign with them after his contract expires next summer, and even though the team was hoping to hang onto him, it has opened its stance on trading him instead of risking losing him for nothing next year.

The Cavallies have emerged as the favorite to land Love as their inclusion of Wiggins in the deal has appeared to sway the Timberwolves into making a trae, but per league rules it can't happen until later this month.

The Timberwolves have missed the playoffs for 10 straight seasons and the last six years with Love on the roster, and the three-time All-Star is looking for a change of pace.

He just may get that in Cleveland.
