The Atlanta Falcons continue their journey to the start of the 2014 NFL season and the cameras are still rolling as Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Atlanta Falcons airs it’s fourth episode on Tuesday.
Last week’s episode of Hard Knocks started and ended on the same note, season ending injuries. The opening scene showing what goes into surgery on a torn ACL then to finish the episode on left tackle Sam Baker’s torn patella tendon was tragically poetic.
It wasn’t all bad for the Falcons as they saw some promise out of rookie Jake Matthews, who will now be the teams left tackle for the rest of the season.
Comedy remained a common theme at Falcons camp as we saw that Matt Ryan can’t tell a joke to save his life, Harry Douglas has the ugliest effective bowling style in the world and that defensive line coach Bryan Cox might be the highlight of the show.
Cox showed off his family to his players, including his daughters, and hilarity ensued as the players awkwardly tried to stay quiet instead of making comments concerning his attractive daughters. One of the defensive lineman went as far as to be connected to Cox’s daughter via Instagram and Cox was not all that thrilled.
Week Four of Hard Knocks will follow the Falcons as they take on the Tennessee Titans in their dress rehearsal game before the season starts in two weeks.
