WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin has been linked to a lot of rumors surrounding a return to the ring for the "Texas Rattlesnake" at WrestleMania 31 or 32, and the WWE legend took to Twitter to exploit these rumors in a joking fashion.

Austin took to his Twitter account and addressed the ongoing rumors about his participation in WrestleMania 31 by making light of the rumors:

This comes in the wake of reports surfacing last week that those close to Austin have noted he is working out really hard and that it was possibly in preparation for a return to the squared circle for one more WWE match.

WWE Monday Night RAW Preview And Rumors

While Austin has said in the past that he wouldn't want to put all of the work needed into coming back for just one more match, reports surfaced last week that if the money was right and the creative plans are good enough, Austin may have one more match left in him.

Austin has kept in great shape since leaving the WWE, but it may take a lot for him to get back into the ring. Austin had previously said that he wanted to face CM Punk down the line, but that seems doubtful with Punk walking out on the WWE back in January and being on bad terms with the company.

Austin has given mixed signals about a possible return to the ring and his desire to do so as he told Sam Roberts during SummerSlam weekend that he was not hungry for a return to the squared circle when discussing Sting possibly having one more match.

"No, I had a great breakfast this morning, no hunger at all," Austin said. "Especially as it pertains to the squared circle."

On the flip side, Austin seemed to hint strongly at a return for WrestleMania 32 in 2016 in a different interview - though he said he isn't promoting himself.

"I'll reserve my right to if I want to have another match down the road - say, like, Dallas, Texas is going to be [WrestleMania 32]," he told PWTorch  "Now, 31 is right down the road from me. That could be doable, but I don't see it happening. Now, Dallas, that could be very special going back to Texas for 32. They're going to need a loaded card to fill that house. So, I'll reserve my right. But, am I pushing, pandering, selling, promoting? Nothing."

Austin has made some sporadic appearances with the WWE over the last 11 years, but he hasn't wrestled a match since losing to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the finale of their WrestleMania trilogy at WrestleMania XIX in 2003.

While there have been a lot of contradictions as to whether or not the Hall of Famer will return to the squared circle, it is possible that Austin may have a final match left in him. For now, he's just joking and having fun with all of the rumors.
