Aaron Hernandez Murder Case Update: Accomplice Failed Polygraph Test, Results Could Help Hernandez's Cousin? [VIDEO]

Carlos Ortiz, a suspected accomplice of former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez on the night Odin Lloyd was killed, reportedly failed a polygraph test in which he discussed what he saw the night Lloyd was shot. Based on the lies he reportedly told, Tanya Singleton, Hernandez's cousin, is seeking to have a conspiracy indictment against her dismissed based on these findings.

According to reports, Ortiz initially claimed to be asleep in the car when Hernandez allegedly shot Lloyd. He then changed his story to say he was talking with another accomplice, Ernest Wallace, when Hernandez killed Lloyd.

"Aaron was, like, towards, like, the car, like, towards behind, like. They took a little walk. I didn't hear no arguing. Nothing. And it just happened like this, like you know. So that's what I really seen. But I remember Aaron - as soon as I went like this, I seen Aaron run in the car, OK, and Bo [Wallace], slam the door."

He had also claimed he was about to open the door when he saw Hernandez run back to the car without Lloyd. The Boston Herald reports the examiner told Ortiz, "You know you lied." Now lawyers for Singleton are aiming to have her indictment tossed based on prosecutors withholding information that "undermined greatly" Ortiz, whose testimony was used to indict Singleton.

Hernandez's trial for Lloyd's murder is set to begin in January 2015, but that's not the only problem Hernandez has on his hands. He's also facing double-murder charges for the 2012 drive-by slaying of Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu after an altercation in a Boston nightclub.
