Minnesota Twins News: Torii Hunter Curses Out Reporter During Introductory Press Conference [VIDEO]

Torii Hunter recently returned to the Minnesota Twins, and he wasted no time making headlines for his new franchise.

At a press conference the Twins held to introduce Hunter, the former All Star took offense to something a reporter said, and he made no efforts to hide how he felt about it. Hunter signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal to play for Minnesota in 2015.

Cardinals The Myster Team Bidding On Lester?

According to media reports, Twins beat reporter for the Saint Paul Pioneer-Press Mike Berardino brought up Hunter's controversial comments regarding homosexuality after backing a candidate in the Arkansas gubernatorial race. Berardino was wondering whether Hunter thought that those comments affected the way teams approached signing him in free agency.

Hunter responded to the intial question in a roundabout way, leading Berardino to ask specifically whether Hunter had plans to make more anti-gay comments in the future and whether he would answer questions about his beliefs.

Hunter responded, "No, I mean nah. There's nothing to talk about. You already know, so why keep talking about it. I said it? It is what it is. No, I'm not going to talk about it if you bring it up. It's not even baseball related. We can do that later, when I retire, and I'll tell you everything."

A few seconds later, Hunter decided that he wanted everyone to know what he thought of Berardino, adding, "Hey Mike is kind of a p***k huh? No, seriously, you're a p***k man. I don't even know you. You're a p***k. Seriously. Ain't nothing wrong with that man, that's your job. He's definitely a p***k though."

Berardino later released a statement explaining why he asked the questions and that he appreciated that Hunter's wife answered the same questions without insulting him. He added that he considered the matter closed and that he would continue to cover Hunter and the Twins during the 2015 season.
