Dallas Cowboys News: Tony Romo Guarantees A Super Bowl? [VIDEO]

The Dallas Cowboys defied the expectations of everyone last season. Most people thought they were headed for a record in the neighborhood of 8-8 once again, and the people that did not agree with that assessment generally assumed that they would be worse. Instead, they won 12 games, the NFC East, and beat the Detroit Lions in the playoffs.

The team wants to build on that success in the 2015 season, and quarterback Tony Romo is quite confident that they will be able to, according to CBS Sports. Romo just received the Nancy Lieberman Lifetime Achievement Award at the Dream Ball Gala, and he had some thoughts on how the team will fare in the coming season.

Romo closed his acceptance speech by saying, "This award is very meaningful to me, mostly because I get to be associated with this and to be associated with Nancy. It's incredible and I really appreciate you, and we're going to win a Super Bowl next year. Thank you."

Romo also mentioned that he wants to win a championship to help repay the people that have made him into the man and the player that he is today.

"In the last five years, it's become all the people that I'm with, the Jason Wittens, the Jason Garretts, the Joneses, these people I've been with for a long time," Romo said. "I want to win a championship so bad, but it's just not about me. I literally want to win it so bad for them. For the people around me who have helped me.

"They've allowed me to achieve my dreams and my goals. Without them, I'm not there, I promise you. I'm not where I'm at right now and I'm not going where I'm going."

Dallas still has some holes to fill on the roster, but they should have a great chance to return to the playoffs if they draft smartly, and as several teams have shown in recent years, anything can happen once the postseason begins.
