WWE 'Money in the Bank 2015' Results: Seth Rollins Retains, Sheamus Wins Briefcase

It took almost everything Seth Rollins had to spoil Dean Ambrose's homecoming while Sheamus is now Mr. Money in the Bank.

Rollins defeated the Ohio native at Money in the Bank Sunday night live from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus in a Ladder Match to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The Architect and Lunatic Fringe were battling it out on top of the ladder after they both unhooked the belt and crashed to the mat. The impact of the fall caused Ambrose to release the title, leading to Rollins being in sole possession of the gold, making him the winner of the match.

Rollins displayed a vicious edge throughout the contest and powerbombed Ambrose into the railing twice and then delivered the maneuver one more time on the floor onto a ladder and several chairs toward the end of the struggle. Ambrose kept coming back in his home state, but ultimately Rollins' goal of standing tall on his own came to fruition.

The best spot of the match saw Ambrose backdrop Rollins through a ladder that was bridged between the ring apron and the announce table. Another notable moment saw The Lunatic Fringe, who sold a knee injury throughout, nail The Architect with Dirty Deeds on the Spanish announce table.

Sunday was also a big night for the Celtic Warrior as he overcame Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Neville, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler and Kane in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Reigns had the briefcase in his sights and was all alone at one point, but Bray Wyatt interfered and cost him the match, likely sparking a feud between the two.

Sheamus then became Mr. Money in the Bank after getting rid of Neville and he now has a contract for a WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot anytime within the next year. Reigns vs. Wyatt was later announced for Battleground on July 19.

In the highly-anticipated rematch between United States Champion John Cena and NXT Champion Kevin Owens, the Cenation leader avenged the loss at Elimination Chamber by pinning Owens after an Attitude Adjustment.

It was a very solid back-and-forth match between the two and after it was over, Cena went to shake Owens' hand, and following the embrace, Owens attacked him. He then hit Cena with the powerbomb on the apron outside of the ring and left, maniacally laughing, as Cena sold an injury.

Elsewhere, The Big Show defeated Ryback by disqualification in a match for the Intercontinental Championship after The Miz, who was on commentary, interfered. The Miz attacked both men after the bout.

In the Divas division, Nikki Bella defeated Paige to retain the Divas Championship after a false finish. Brie Bella came out from under the ring and switched places with her sister, leading to Paige pinning her with a small package.

When the referee realized the wrong Bella was pinned due to more "twin magic," the match continued and Nikki re-emerged, hitting the Rack Attack for the successful title defense.

On the pre-show, R-Truth defeated King Barrett after rolling him up.

The WWE paid tribute to Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, who passed away on Thursday, with a 10-bell salute to open the show and a video presentation later on during the event.

Sports World News was 3-4 in its pre-show predictions.
