Floyd Mayweather Jr. Next Fight: 'Money' Cradles Cash During Training For Joke Bout With Andre Berto [VIDEO]

Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently held an enormous stack of money while he worked a heavy bag during his training for a September 12 bout vs. Andre Berto. The stunt was a joke for the television cameras following him for Showtime’s All Access show, and Mayweather should be in a laughing mood. He’s going to make a lot of money for a joke of a fight.

After Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao broke every revenue record there is with their May 2 super fight, Mayweather will need plenty of antics like this to drum up interest in his fight with Berto (30-3, 23 KO), a fighter who has lost three of his last six fights, two of them to former Mayweather opponents. The third loss was against Jesus Soto Karass, who had eight fights when he knocked Berto out, and now has 10 losses on his resume.

Freddie Roach Calls B.S. On Berto Being Floyd's "Final Fight"

Since “Money” is Mayweather’s nickname, it’s no surprise cash is involved on his Instagram. Lately, he’s been even more money-obsessed than usual.

While the matchup is not the most appealing, boxing fans who can ignore Mayweather’s obnoxiousness and appreciate his skill might still be drawn in by this being his alleged final fight. Few believe that Mayweather will resist the urge to fight a 50th time if he takes care of Berto as expected. A win on Sept. 12 would make him 49-0, tying the mark set by former heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano.

3 Reasons To Hold Off On Buying Mayweather-Berto

There is speculation that a 50th bout could happen in 2016, and that it could be a rematch vs. Pacquiao, who would presumably be healthy this time. That’s all speculation. Right now, all fans have to go on are Mayweather’s words.
