College Football Graduate Transfers: How The 'Free Agent' QBs Fared In Week 1 [VIDEO]

Jake Coker, Jake Rudock, Everett Golson, Vernon Adams Jr. and Greyson Lambert didn't have a future at their respective universities. All five sought graduate transfers in search of additional playing time in 2015.

Updated Heisman Trophy Favorites Following College Football Saturday

All five received it in Week 1. Below is how they fared.

Jake Coker, QB, Alabama

There was no guarantee Coker would see the field against Wisconsin. The senior was amid a QB battle with Cooper Bateman and Alec Morris, but proved his worth on Saturday. En route to a signature, 35-17 win over Wisconsin, Coker finished 15-of-21 for 213 yards and one TD.

Vernon Adams Jr., QB, Oregon

Insert QB and watch them succeed, that continues to be the mantra at Oregon. Adams Jr. was just the latest example, finishing 19-of-25 for 246 yards and two TDs. Oregon defeated Eastern Washington, Adams Jr.'s former team, 61-42.

Showcasing his dual-threat capabilities, he rushed for an additional 94 yards on 14 carries.

Everett Golson, QB, Florida State

Notre Dame didn't miss Golson in the team's 38-3 rout of Texas on Saturday, but that didn't stop him from showing the Tallahassee faithful his potential. Golson kickstarted his Heisman Trophy campaign, finishing 19-of-25 for 302 yards and four TDs.

Jake Rudock, QB, Michigan

Not every transfer QB enjoyed success. Rudock struggled mightily in Michigan's 24-17 loss to Utah. The senior missed several scoring opportunities with erant passes, finishing 27-of-43 for 279 yards and two TDs. His three interceptions proved to be costly.

Greyson Lambert, QB, Georgia

Lambert took control early against Louisiana-Monroe. The No. 9-ranked Bulldogs dispatched their opponents with ease Saturday, winning 51-14 to start the season. Lambert, forced to accept limited duty, finished 8-of-12 for 141 yards and two TDs. He rushed for an additional 26 yards.
