Heisman Trophy Chances 2015: Taysom Hill Suffers Season-Ending Foot Injury, Updated Favorites Following College Football Saturday [VIDEO]

It was a long shot, but any hopes Taysom Hill had of lifting the 2015 Heisman Trophy dissipated on Saturday. The BYU QB suffered a season-ending foot injury, casting a shadow over the team's last-second, 33-28 victory over Nebraska.

Hill was a sleeper at +10000, per Oddsshark. Trevone Boykin (+500), Jeremy Johnson (+1200), Nick Chubb (+1200) and Cody Kessler (+1200) were all ahead of him and already in action Week 1.

Below is a quick recap of how they fared.

Jeremy Johnson, QB, Auburn

Johnson was able to escape Week 1 with a victory—31-24 over Louisville—but his Heisman Trophy campaign took a damaging blow. The Auburn QB struggled mightily, finishing 11-of-21 for 137 yards and one TD, but it was his propensity to turn the football over that nearly cost him.

Johnson threw three INTs, dropping his QBR to 40.2.

Trevone Boykin, QB, TCU

It was a slow start for Boykin in Minnesota, dropping the heavily favored QB in the updated list of favorites. The redshirt senior did manage to escape with a 23-17 victory, but only went 26-of-42 for 246 yards and one TD.

An interception helped drop his QBR to 67.6 on the day.

Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia

All things considered, it was an average day for Chubb.

The Georgia RB carried the ball 16 times for 120 yards and two TDs. An early 51-14 destruction of Louisiana-Monroe cost him additional snaps, leaving him unable to make a dent in the Heisman Trophy race.

Cody Kessler, QB, USC

Granted the competition was not up to par, but Kessler helped USC cruise to a 55-6 victory over Arkansas St.. With Ohio St. yet to take a snap, his stat sheet—which read 19-of-26 for 236 yards and four TDs—is enough to make him the odds-on favorite entering Week 2.

Fellow Ohio St. favorites Cardale Jones, J.T. Barrett and Ezekiel Elliott will be able to stake their claim Monday night against Virginia Tech.
