James Harden forgot the first rule of dating a Kardashian -- the cameras are always on you.
So adidas might not be too happy that the Rockets star is being seen around town in a pair of Nike Air Jordans on a date with girlfriend Khloe Kardashian, as TMZ Sports reported.
Kanye West Warns James Harden Not To Cheat On Khloe Kardashian
"The Beard and his (girlfriend) caught a late showing of 'Straight Outta Compton' in Calabasas over the weekend," TMZ Sports indicated. "While Harden couldn't be bothered to put on some adidas kicks ... at least Khloe was sporting the brand's sweatshirt and sweatpants.
"In fairness to Harden, the Adidas deal doesn't officially begin until Oct. 1 -- but we strongly doubt adidas honchos will be happy about this."
James Harden Could Be A Lakers Free-Agent Target In 2018
Harden, the 2014-15 NBA MVP runner-up, signed a 13-year, $200 million contract with adidas last month. Ironically, Nike refused an opportunity to match Adidas' offer to Harden.
Kardashian rocked the adidas gear during the summer as Harden competed in a Drew League game. It was an indication her boyfriend was going to start promoting the apparel.
"We're a brand of creators and James embodies that more than any athlete in the game," Chris Grancio, adidas Global Basketball General Manager, said in a statement, as reported by USA Today Sports. "His addition to the adidas basketball family is a game changer. This partnership gives him the opportunity to achieve his goals and express himself in a totally new way as a creator. He's already one of the most recognizable sports figures because of his game, his look, his hunger to win and his style on the off the court. His ceiling is far from reached, which tells you the future for him and our brand looks incredible."
Unfortunately for adidas, Harden apparently isn't ready yet to express himself in a totally new way as a creator.
