The Giants may be very concerned about the status of Jason Pierre-Paul's hand -- and how many fingers he has -- but the defensive end authored a somewhat sarcastic tweet about the ailment.
Pierre-Paul infamously mangled his hand in a fireworks incident on July 4 and then avoided contact with the Giants for over a month. The issues included the defensive end keeping the team and its doctors in the dark about the severity of his injury and not allowing them to see him in the hospital after it occurred.

There were initially reports that the two-time Pro Bowler only lost his pointer finger, but now news has broke that part of his thumb is also missing and his middle finger is severely damaged.
Pierre-Paul took to Twitter and fired off a tweet about his missing index finger, claiming it won't impede him too much.

His pointer finger isn't the only worry for the Giants about the Super Bowl XLVI champion's damaged hand as he had a procedure on his middle finger three days before New York's doctors examined the injury, according to ESPN.
With his middle finger heavily-operated on and his index finger and tip of his thumb missing, many decision-makers have grown weary about how he'll perform if he was to return to the gridiron.
Pierre-Paul has remained optimistic that he'll be able to return to game-action soon, but ESPN reports that the Giants don't plan on reevaluating the injury again for five-to-six weeks. If the hand is still in as grisly a condition as they saw it in last week, the team may revoke his $14.81 million franchise tender. Pierre-Paul even posted a video of himself working out on Wednesday (see below).
Per the report, Pierre-Paul had an operation to "close up" his middle finger on Sept. 4, just three days prior to being evaluated by Giants doctors. The defensive end had his pointer finger amputated and surgery on his thumb on July 8 and it is said he had myriad operations since the incident. The Sept. 4 procedure is believed to be the last one he needed.
While he's sidelined, the Giants save $871,000 in cash and cap room per game, according to ESPN. In their first game without
Pierre-Paul, the Giants got off to a rocky start, mismanaging the clock and falling to the Cowboys 27-26 in the closing seconds of their season-opener.
